Watch Full Movie Dangal:

Dangal enjoyed a mind-blowing second weekend of 72.94 crore. Now these collections are just out of the world considering the fact that almost all Bollywood biggies in 2016 failed to register these even in their first weekend.

There are only six films that have managed a first weekend of over 50 crore in 2016. This is how they look:

Dangal - 107.01 crore

Sultan - 105.53 crore

M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story - 66 crore

Housefull 3 - 53.31 crore

Fan - 52.35 crore
Rustom - 50.52 crore

This means that with a 72.94 crore second weekend, while Dangal is pretty much competing with itself at the top, the only other 2016 release that managed a better first weekend was Sultan. From there on, none of the other biggies in the list could come even close to 72.94 crore.

It is a clear indication of how the word of mouth has played a very important role in ensuring excellent collections for the film. While an All Time Blockbuster tag is pretty much in the offering, what makes these numbers special is the fact that no one can really put a final number on where would the Nitesh Tiwari directed film ultimately end up.

So far, the film has behaved like a holiday release even without a festival holiday in its 10 day run so far. It is only from today that the regular weekdays would kick-start as people would be back in office for work. However, an out and out positive feedback so far has ensured that those who wait to hear from others about the merits of a film would start trickling in as well. Moreover, there is a third weekend open as well with no competition whatsoever.

Are we looking at Bollywood's first 400 Crore Club affair? Stay tuned, and we would know very soon!

Note: All numbers as per production and distribution sources

Dangal's exceptional performance at the box office led to Bollywood witnessing the biggest 2nd weekend collection ever. With a phenomenal figure of Rs. 32.04 crore on its 2nd Sunday, the Aamir Khan-starrer marked Indian Film Industry's highest collection on Day 10 taking the cumulative total to Rs. 270. 47 crore nett.

The film embarked on its 2nd week of release, collecting Rs. 18.59 crore on Friday while Saturday registered Rs. 23.07 crore and went ahead to create history on Sunday. The Mahavir Singh Phogat biopic released to a thunderous performance which set the cash registers buzzing upon its release. The film has minted a whooping Rs 270.47 crore nett in the Indian market and is soaring high in the International shores too.

Breaking the demonetization spell, Dangal has gone ahead to break many Box office records, garnering applause from all spheres. Trade analyt Taran Adarsh took to his Twitter account to reveal the Day 10 collections of the film.

WAJAH TUM HO STORY: A hooded vigilante is broadcasting murders on a news channel. Will the police catch him alive before he live-casts another death?

WAJAH TUM HO REVIEW: Wajah Tum Ho is the latest product on the assembly line of half-baked sex-thrillers. Which is unfortunate, because the idea isn’t half bad.

A tech genius hacks into a TV channel owned by Rahul Oberoi (Rajneish) and starts streaming a murder on it. Rahul - the prime suspect - is interrogated by inspector Kabir (Sharman) and defended by his lawyer, Siya (Sana). Siya’s boyfriend Ranveer (Gurmeet) is hired by the government to prosecute Rahul. The plot thickens (by about an inch) when another suspect is killed off on live TV.

On the surface level, live murders on national TV followed by a manhunt sounds like an intriguing plot. But minutes into the movie, intrigue gives way to intimate scenes, cringe-worthy dialogue and highly predictable twists.

At one point in the second half, you realize that a whole chunk from the first half was unnecessary; hacking is explained in a powerpoint presentation; several references are made to how a woman who sleeps with her boyfriend should not complain about rape and the big reveal at the end is devoid of logic. Another gripe: the shocking English pronunciation of all the actors. A speech coach would have been a good investment.

Rajneish, who changes his name’s spelling in every film, has to realize that the change has to be made elsewhere. Gurmeet flaunts his abs and not much else and Sharman, the only credible actor here, goes a little over-the-top with his enunciation. Sana, a Bigg Boss alumna, is still play-acting for 94 cameras instead of performing sincerely for one.

Three of the four songs are recreations of older hits and pop-up dutifully when there’s a lull in the screenplay. The background score refuses to die down and accompanies you throughout the movie.

There is no justifiable reason to recommend this one.
